Business Mentoring Youth Program (BMY)

As one of the many programs that make up WorkReady Philadelphia, AAMP is a part of an ongoing citywide effort to build a solid workforce for our region. The purpose of BMY is to create relationships where mentoring pairs share information and experiences to help students develop life skills, appreciate the value of education, understand how the working world operates, solve problems and achieve mutually agreed upon goals.

Greater Philadelphia Urban Coalition Youth Program

Sponsored by the Summer Youth Works Program, AAMP facilitates workforce development training for Philadelphia high school students. Twenty students are trained annually to become Junior Tour Guides and program managers for the Passport to Culture: Summer Youth Empowerment Program. The Education department also facilitates a collaborative summer project with the students.

Passport to Culture: Summer Youth Empowerment Program – July and August

Designed to complement our exhibits, summer programs offer tours, interdisciplinary arts activities, African dance and music workshops, and a journey to historic moments in the rich cultural history of the people of Africa and the Diaspora through storytelling.
