AAMP LAUNCHES LENS LEGACY PROGRAM
Funding provided through PNC Arts Alive
Made possible through the generous support of the PNC Arts Alive program, Lens Legacy will launch on Thursday, December 9, as a group of Philadelphia students will get a unique opportunity to interact with the GRAMMY®-nominated songwriter/producer team of Ivan Barias and Carvin Haggins then work together to pen lyrics to music created on site during the event.
Over the next several months AAMP will continue Lens Legacy with a series of programs and workshops that will focus on the critical role of the performing and narrative arts by incorporating the oral traditions of the African American culture. All of the performances by artists and reactions by the audience will be documented, processed, distributed and archived. These remarkable and iconic personal experiences are shared with others through the website offering interactive comment posting access to students, artists and the general public.
PNC Arts Alive is a five-year, $5-million grants initiative that challenges visual and performing arts organizations to put forth their best, most original thinking in expanding audience participation and engagement.
